Research Scientist

Executes preclinical scientific research or development in collaboration with others for
projects. Investigates the feasibility of applying a variety of scientific principles and
concepts to potential products and problems. Exercises technical discretion in the
design, execution and interpretation of experiments that contribute to a project.
Prepares technical reports, summaries, protocols, and quantitative analysis.
Investigates, creates and develops new methods and technologies for project
advancement. Maintains a broad knowledge of scientific principles and theories.
Participates in development of patent applications. Interfaces with various departments.
Uses professional concepts to contribute to the development of company concepts and
principles and to achieve objectives in creative and effective ways. Works on
complicated or compound problems in which analysis of situations or data requires
evaluation of identifiable factors from multiple disciplines. Exercises judgment within
generally defined procedures, practices and policies in selecting methods and
techniques for obtaining solutions or to determine appropriate action. Demonstrated
working knowledge of scientific principles, technical proficiency, scientific creativity,
collaboration with others and independent thought. Requires no instructions on routine
work and may determine methods and procedures on new assignments. May provide
guidance to other lower-level personnel.
Performs scientific work and a variety of laboratory procedures requiring application of
standard techniques, procedures, methods and criteria in carrying out a sequence of
related scientific tasks under general guidance. Conducts experiments, some
complicated. Conducts and interprets data. Limited exercise of judgment is required on
details of work when less common or proposed methods or procedures are necessary.
Is expected to detect problems in using standardization procedures because of the
condition of the sample, difficulties with the equipment, etc. May conduct scientific
phases of a project for a more experienced scientist.
Acquires knowledge of the pertinent literature and does sustained and
independent literature reading in this area. Makes acceptable comprehensive
literature surveys.
Shows ingenuity in work and creativeness in ideas. Correlates and interprets
complex results and reaches logical conclusions.
Writes reports regularly, which require little editing and makes acceptable oral
presentations occasionally.
Understands and works effectively under limited supervision on projects. Plans
and schedules work under limited supervision on problems. Strives to meet all
deadlines.
Can write clinical trail protocol and order materials needed to complete the
process.
Can troubleshoot problems with products.
Works in a multidisciplinary team with other scientists, researchers and
technicians.
Investigates problem areas and areas of desirable product improvement.
Meets and responds to customer requirements.
Liaises with suppliers of raw materials.
Decides on and implements experimental procedures.
Conducts test protocols and procedures, and product evaluations.
Transfers new technologies and products to Operations.
Implements profit improvement programs, by making changes to existing
products and processes.
Documents development work, writing technical reports and cost estimates.
Provides product claim substantiation to ensure efficacy and safety of new and
existing products.

Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required,
graduate degree preferred (or equivalent); a minimum of two to five years experience in
a research and development environment preferred.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
